Consumer electronics manufacturer Fujitsu has launched a portfolio of notebook and tablet PCs designed for businesses, all which include the Microsoft Windows 8.1 operating system, a touch-screen option for the notebooks and enterprise-class security.
The company’s “Touch Concepts” include four Lifebooks. The Lifebook U904, which the company claims is the thinnest business Ultrabook in the 14-inch class. Not only does it boast a 14-inch (3,200-by-1,800) IGZO display, but it also incorporates security features, a backlit keyboard and optional port replicator.
The Lifebook S904 with a 13.3-inch (2,560-by-1,440) anti-glare display option is well-suited for indoor and outdoor use. It offers all-day computing with up to 24-hour battery runtime (with a second battery) and a modular bay concept for an optical disk drive, second hard disk or battery.
The Lifebook T904 is a 13.3-inch convertible Ultrabook with an IGZO display. It boasts an exchangeable battery and a bidirectional high-definition rotatable display, plus a dual digitizer for pen and finger input and a backlit keyboard.
The Lifebook T734, another convertible, features a bidirectional rotatable display, including pen and finger input, a complete set of security features—including SmartCard—and a modular bay offering versatility and mobility.
Moving on to tablets, the Stylistic Q704 is a 12.5-inch (1,920-by-1,080) semi-ruggedized tablet PC comprising up to fourth-generation Intel Core i7 vPro processor technology, dual performance mode for up to 16 hours in working mode, optional near field communications (NFC) capability, a cradle and two dockable keyboard variants.
Lastly, the semi-ruggedized 10.1-inch Stylistic Q584 offers a high-resolution (2,560-by-1,600) display, optional NFC, a cradle and a dockable keyboard.
The new generation of Lifebook and Stylistic notebooks and tablets are available to order internationally through Fujitsu and its distribution partners starting this month, depending on the model. A company release noted prices would naturally be by model and configuration.
To meet additional specialized needs, Fujitsu is introducing a range of built-to-order “Shell” options for both new Stylistic tablets. The first of these is the Functional Shell, which is also semi-ruggedized and has bearings for additional mountable accessories like a hand strap for easy and safe use in many different situations, and SmartCard Shell, which offers added security due to a SmartCard slot but removes protection against dust and water.
