Networking specialist Netgear announced an expansion of its warranty and customer support coverage for many of its business-class products including the ProSafe line of switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and access points, as well as for business-class ReadyNAS and ReadyData storage products.

Under the new policy, certain ProSafe business product lines now offer 24/7 lifetime technical support and lifetime next business day shipping, an increase from the previous three-year coverage.

The coverage is available in compliment with the existing lifetime hardware warranty for ProSafe unmanaged to fully managed switches, wireless controllers and access points and firewalls.

“Network downtime is a network manager’s worst nightmare, and thus they look for vendors with reliable products and strong service and support offerings,” Matthias Machowinski, directing analyst for enterprise networks and video at Infonetics Research, said in a statement. “With the enhancement to their warranty and support offerings, Netgear is setting a new standard and making it easier than ever for their channel partners and customers to resolve issues quickly.”

The company also noted the warranty policy is in effect for relevant products purchased on or after June 1, 2014.

“Here at Netgear, we have 100 percent confidence in the quality and reliability of our products, and our expanded warranty and around-the-clock support program for our business products conveys that attitude to our customers, systems integrators and channel partners,” John McHugh, senior vice president and general manager for Netgear’s commercial business unit, said in a statement. “We want to make it as simple as possible for them to install and use our products, whenever they need assistance and no matter the time zone. Our new warranty policy offers our customers a crystal-clear view of how we are here to help them.”

Next business day shipping coverage is designed to align with the full length of its hardware warranties on business products.

For example, the ProSafe switching, wireless and firewall products with lifetime hardware warranties will now receive lifetime next business day shipping, and business-class ReadyNAS and ReadyData storage products that already offer a 5-year limited hardware warranty will now include 5-year next business day shipping coverage.

“NetGear supports their hardware and we are happy to see a focus on maintaining a streamlined approach and good service. Their hardware warranties, shipping process, and technical support program have always made it simple and fast to get back online no matter what time we submit our support request,” Dave Dozier, CEO of ECO-IT Cloud Services, said in a statement. “24/7 lifetime technical support will only make it easier to troubleshoot issues, enabling us to cut costs in the long run.”
