Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a division of Panasonic North America, announced the release of UC Pro, a collaboration application that allows users to connect to anyone and anywhere across multiple devices.

The software is designed to integrate with the Panasonic KX-NS series of IP-based communications platforms including the KX-NS700, KX-NS700G or KX-NS1000. It is flexible enough to serve the needs of small to medium-sized business (SMBs) or larger enterprises, according to the company.

A single identification allows users to connect a mobile device to their PC, granting the same functionality to the smartphone or tablet as they would see on their desktop phone, including access to stored contacts and the ability to place calls through the application.

Compatible with Windows, Mac OS, Android and Apple iOS, the UC Pro features an interface designed to be user-friendly and fully customizable. Its features include text chat, video conferencing, one-click calling and an integrated calendar.

“The user experience and ease of use is a very important aspect during the development stage of any of our UC products,” Gary Moeller, PSCNA product manager, told eWEEK. “Our goal is to provide our customers with a business communication tool that is not only intuitive and user-friendly, but can create true efficiencies and improve collaborations in the workplace.”

At the touch of a button, users can share their location and save time chasing down unavailable colleagues by seeing their status and location. Text, audio and video chat functionalities let users hold meetings at remote locations with video conferencing capabilities, and instantly connect to one or more colleagues through the text or audio chat functions.

“Now more than ever, businesses need to stay connected anytime, anywhere. And that doesn’t just mean having a great mobile device,” Moeller said. “Unified communications technology not only helps customers stay seamlessly connected with employees and customers, but also allow for greater collaboration. For example, with UC Pro, one can easily conduct video conference calls with a shared screen for efficient and collaborative work meetings, or share their location and availability with colleagues so they never have to miss a meeting or call.”

Moeller said in the near future, businesses will see continued growth in anytime-anywhere connectivity and related capabilities.

“As business mobility requirements and communication tools continue to evolve with the growing demand for productivity as a competitive differentiator, it only makes sense that UC will also evolve to not only keep up, but help enable these capabilities,” he explained.

The Panasonic UC Pro application is currently available through Panasonic authorized resellers, with downloads for both desktop and mobile clients available through the Panasonic Partner Portal, Google Play and the Apple Store.
