Backup and disaster recovery solutions specialist StorageCraft Technology announced the release of the latest version of its ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Microsoft Exchange software and introduced Granular Recovery for Exchange, which can be used with non-StorageCraft backup and recovery software.

As part of the company’s line of disaster recovery software, Granular Recovery for Exchange allows businesses to recover mailboxes, multiple messages or email attachments from a ShadowProtect backup of Exchange to a production Exchange server or personal storage table (.pst) files.

The latest addition to the Recover-Ability Solution, Granular Recovery for Exchange gives non-ShadowProtect users the same recovery capabilities and can be used with other backup and recovery solutions on the market.

Both products are able to recover mailboxes or emails due to human error or employee transitions, and they also make it possible to consolidate multiple Exchange servers.

Both offerings provide migration for consolidation of single and bulk mailboxes through enhanced drag-and-drop functionality, with automatic creation of new mailboxes on target systems and search enhancements that allow users to “match all fields” or “match any field”.

The platforms also have the ability to set restore and migration limits to throttle data transfers and better manage network traffic and the ability to select temporary database locations when hard drive space is limited.

“ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Exchange 8 and Granular Recovery for Exchange provide small and medium-sized businesses with reliable, cost-effective tools that ensure access to valuable information in company Exchange databases,” Brandon Nordquist, vice president of product management at StorageCraft, said in a statement. “Both products will give Exchange Server administrators confidence and peace of mind with the knowledge that they can easily and quickly recover emails, calendar appointments or even an entire mailbox following natural disasters, human error or other disruptions in access to email information.”

In addition to the Granular Recovery for Exchange products, the company has recently released updated versions of its ShadowProtect 5 and ImageManager 6 software, as well as Cloud Services, as part of its suite of disaster recovery solutions.

In November, N-able by SolarWinds and StorageCraft teamed up to integrate their remote monitoring and management platform and data backup platforms. Through the agreement, N-able by SolarWinds’ MSP service automation platform N-central will integrate the disaster recovery capabilities of ShadowProtect software.

The complete integration of the two IT solutions will begin this year. The agreement also allows N-able’s channel partners worldwide to buy ShadowProtect software through N-able or directly from StorageCraft.
