Backup, archiving, instant recovery and disaster recovery solutions provider Unitrends announced hardware, cloud and support services designed to help IT administrators at small and midsize businesses (SMBs) manage ever-increasing data storage and backup demands.
Expanding upon the company’s Unified Data Protection product portfolio, Unitrends announced three additions to the Recovery Series family, Recovery-863, which showcases the company’s scale-out architecture; Recovery-824, Unitrends’ first 4TB appliance; and Recovery-313, its first 3TB appliance for the desktop.
The company also unveiled two hardware specialty services for Recovery Series customers, including the Recovery Series Pledge Program, which guarantees customers a new appliance at their original capacity every four years, with a next-day-shipment service level agreement (SLA).
The other service is the Recovery Series Pledge Plus Program, which protects customers from flourishing data growth by guaranteeing them a new appliance of up to double their original capacity every four years, with a next-day-shipment SLA.
“From day one, Unitrends has existed to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with the same levels of data protection that their enterprise counterparts receive, but at a price point they can afford and with the ease-of-use they require,” Mark Campbell, Unitrends’ chief strategy and technology officer, said in a statement. “Our new hardware, cloud and support services exemplify this mission and equip IT admins with the tools needed to manage agile environments and evolving data demands without increasing spend or adding personnel.”
The company also is offering No Limits Cloud, an unmetered cloud service that enables customers to replicate up to their entire on-premise appliance for one price. The service is an alternative to Unitrends’ existing Standard Cloud service, a metered offering at a monthly rate of 25 cents per gigabyte.
Data deduplication techniques and Disk-to-Disk-to-Any (D2D2x) on-premise granular archiving are integrated with Unitrends’ cloud replication offering, which helps businesses optimize their wide area network (WAN) bandwidth.
“No other services program out there matches the return on investment that our offering provides,” Campbell said. “We truly enable IT administrators to focus on revenue-generating business rather than their backup, and in today’s world, that’s an invaluable advantage.”
Finally, the company debuted three customer service offerings, Gold, Platinum and Premier. At the Gold level, businesses are offered proactive monitoring, software updates, 8/5 telephone support, 24/7 email support, and a three-to-five day shipment guarantee of replacement parts and units.
The Platinum level includes all services of the Gold package, as well as 24/7 telephone support and accelerated SLAs, while the Premium package boasts all the services of the Platinum level service, as well as a named account service representative, a configuration review every six months and accelerated SLAs.
