Push-to-talk (PTT) and multimedia messaging specialist Voxer announced the availability of Voxer for Web, which allows Voxer Business customers to connect mobile and desk workers.

The platform offers the functionality of the Voxer mobile application plus other features that will enable administrators and dispatchers to monitor multiple conversations, people or teams, all from a computer.

Current pricing is $4.95 per user per month and will increase to $9.95 per user per month effective Jan. 1, 2014. For existing customers and those who sign up prior to Dec. 31, 2013, pricing will remain at $4.95 per user per month until Oct. 31, 2014, a company release noted.

“We have had a lot of success with Voxer Business and significant customer feedback that validates the need for PTT and messaging services that facilitate instantaneous communication. In order for us to continue evolving our product, it’s important to listen to customer needs and add the features that help their businesses communicate more efficiently and effectively,” Tom Katis, CEO and founder of Voxer, said in a statement. “Voxer for Web addresses the need for having a unified experience, where customers can access voxes across a variety of devices. In the coming months, we will introduce additional features for the Web, which will focus on bridging the gap between admins and geographically distributed workers.”

Voxer for Web builds upon the core functionality of the Voxer mobile service, and offers live and messaged audio, the ability to send and receive images and text messages, and team chat capabilities. In addition, users can participate in conversations directly from their desktops, in addition to their mobile phones.

With the platform, desktop users can listen to voxes without disturbing those around them, as Voxer for Web allows users to listen to voxes on headsets, as well as record them when they need to send PTT messages.

Users can now have access to multiple team chats on one screen, minimizing the time it takes to move from one team chat to another. They will also have access to all voice messages, texts and images that teams are sending, and can actively participate in these conversations.

Finally, a live mode allows users to listen to multiple chats in real time, helping to facilitate more immediate communication through PTT among team members.

“Voxer has played a central role in my company, allowing my team to constantly be in touch with each other and with me. The platform helps us manage our communication in a discrete manner and requires no additional equipment,” Tom Brennan, owner of Future Cab, said in a statement. “Voxer for Web enables the advanced control and access I need to manage our staff and dispatch our drivers in New York City, while working remotely from my home in Virginia Beach.”
