Micro Solutions last week shipped a family of portable hard drives that puts as much as 200GB of hard disk space at users fingertips. And users will need their fingertips to access these devices.

The LockBox external drives, designed for small-business and personal use, features the companys Active Imaging Sensor fingerprint authentication system.

The drives can be partitioned into as many as seven drives and allow up to eight users to store fingerprints, officials said. The LockBox comes in 80GB, 120GB and 200GB models, for $199, $249 and $299, respectively.

The LockBox joins other drives such as Loqware Technologies LoqDrive 250 SPR, which has been shipping for several years. It, too, comes with fingerprint biometrics but supports capacities only as high as 80GB.
