At its PlayStation Meeting event in Tokyo today, Sony dropped an assortment of bombs regarding its upcoming PSP handheld game machine. The full specifications for the system were revealed, as well as new dates for its future display and release.

Sonys presentation consisted of a number of slides running down the systems various characteristics and capabilities. Some were already announced at E3 and afterwards, but the full picture has not been available until now.

Read on for the complete ExtremeTech article.

David Smith has a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in Library Services. His six years of post-secondary education, as embodied by two sheepskins, have combined to make exactly no difference whatsoever regarding his financial fortunes in the real world. Favorite Games: Chrono Cross Contra III Fire Pro Wrestling S Gangster Town Guilty Gear XX Radiant Silvergun StarCraft System Shock 2 Tony Hawk 4 Valkyrie Profile David Smith is the News Editor for this site through no fault of his own. When David was out of work and contemplating a move to North Carolina, Sam Kennedy rescued him from empty days of club soda and Jean-Claude Van Damme movies on cable TV with the promise of a job and abundant free money for working on the moribund Gamers.com website and Ziff-Davis Media's many videogame magazines. On the one hand, David kind of wanted to move to North Carolina, where rent is cheap, girls like him, and he can buy Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda. On the other hand, David likes free money. He took the job, and instead of spending his severance check on a cross-country move, he flew to Japan for the weekend to buy Gundam t-shirts and watch women's pro wrestling at Korakuen Hall. David's first job in the videogame business consisted of nine months at the now-defunct Gamers' Republic magazine. He was fired for having no respect whatsoever for his bosses. He then spent almost three years at IGNPS2, but was once again canned in a variation on that same theme. He has never left a job of his own accord since graduating from college. His other work experience includes shelving books, checking out books, filling out interlibrary loan forms to acquire new books, moving large mounds of books from location to location, and slacking off on company time. In addition to videogames, which have become more of a job than a pastime after four years of writing about them, David enjoys cooking and Japanese animation, about which he writes a column for Official US PlayStation Magazine and the occasional extremely surly review. His favorite artists in a variety of media include Mamoru Nagano, Hunter Thompson, Henry Rollins, Kool G Rap, James Ellroy, Yoko Kanno, and Motorhead.
