Venture capital investment in data-storage startups for the first two quarters of 2004 totaled $225.8 million, according to a report from Ernst & Young and VentureOne. Investment for all of 2003 was $223.75 million.
VCs spent $691 million on information technology equipment in the first half of 2004.
