foreign speaks we're looking at five key ideas that will help you develop a strategy for using AI in your business to discuss that I'm joined by vladislav malikovic CTO dox vlado good to have you with us today thanks for having me hi how you doing so you come up with this framework I think is important because a lot of companies are really wondering how should we think about AI it's a new area for for many companies I'd like to take a look at your five ideas and we can talk about each one of them here's number one you've written AI is a Renaissance not a plague people will use AI to create unimaginable things and uncover what no one thought was possible so I I agree that's I agree with that is that is true I think there's also I think there is a certain worry about artificial official intelligence at this point some people are considering it in terms of job losses but what what is your check yeah so yeah that's a little bit of a play play with the medieval and the plague and the Renaissance coming after it and I'm thinking about uh um Michelangelo of AI I'm using that one I mean AI is a as a thing is is not you we it's been around for 70 plus years right right and is it now that that the technology around us the advancements of the cloud uh the prior of internet and the computing power that we have a Moore's Law and a spike um it it commoditized the all all the technology around it to the point where we can apply this and and really utilize it on a big um for example um models that AI is using right a few years back it wasn't even possible but now we are actually can do it and in near real time or real time right so the thing is about it is that um that it due to the commodization and accessibility of it everybody can start to innovate and utilize it to something so Michelangelo AI is maybe maybe it's it's it's not there yet but it's maybe today born and in few years time we'll be producing and creating something incredible sitting in a basement maybe that person is now sitting in the basement of its parents but two years from now we'll come up with something really incredible so so to speak statue of David Michelangelo statue of David in AI terms right so I think we're we're getting there yeah no that that person probably an entire you know cohort of a generation those individuals are growing right now and giving you some thought uh all right Point number two you've written this AI is a partner not an adversary the true and full potential lies in the AI plus human partnership so in other ways we shouldn't just look to the the technology to lead the way forward it's really going to be the way the AI enables uh human productivity correct correct coming from the previous point where it's not going to be a rise of the Machines on its own right the true benefit is only then uh here when we combine technology and the person with it right humans with it and um that the outcome the the ultimate outcome of that that that connection should be uh the true end user of it should be definitely a human right it shouldn't be AI for AI or AI for the sake of something it should be say for the sake of humanity right um the thing with the AI I think it's getting there to the point where with the with the with the again for we see PD where everybody knows what it is everybody's Unison it's now integrated in the everyday products sure like web browsers and and search engines um yet I think because it's becoming ultimate tool just because it's there it's it's also a complex one so I think you need to read in the instruction manual you need to be at this point in time still be prepared what to do with it and it it is a tool that ultimately augments you yourself it's like you can look at it as an exoskeleton right without it exoskeleton without human doesn't have any any purpose on its own it just sits in uh you know it's hanging somewhere but when you put it on then it helps you to lift heavy things or run faster around so in this combination I think that's that's when it becomes um then that's when it's increase two benefits for Humanity all right so so Point number three you say be Discerning of AI not dismissive the difference between being Discerning and being dismissive is transformational are there in fact you know a certain amount of Business Leaders that are still dismissive it feels like most of the business Community is embracing it wholeheartedly well I I just recently I I I I I spoke spoke about this idea in front of 150 uh um uh Finance professionals and I and I did a quick survey and and I asked how many of them really use it in uh in uh real um professional environment and to be honest I was a bit disappointed with the with the with the outcome it it's somewhere like it's it's anecdotal but I would say somewhere like 15 of people raised their hand I think two adoption comes when you are 20 30 and above right right but when I said how many of you know Ted dpd everybody raised their hands how many of you we've been using it it was 95 so so adoption is um I mean AI in that sense there is a little bit of hype of it and very nice looking things around like like uh GPT that are making it very um popular but um it is um that that you you kept as such techno this technology you cannot you cannot simply ignore it it's everywhere right it's really here so ignoring it is is not an option I think embracing it and being prepared to use it in your environment figuring out how does this technology help me and how can I shape it what how can I push it to towards something that is helping me I think that's that's what we should be you should be doing at this point in time like with every new technology right um people are aren't um normally they don't like big changes right so for as long as it's helping us it's good if it starts to become a trouble oh I don't wanna I don't want to talk about it but I think um it is inevitable it is coming it's here right so we cannot ignore it we are very very sure we must either embrace it understand it or not and and we cannot we can no longer put our head in the sand at this point uh interesting too about the finance Executives and and finest professionals adoption is still not 100 by a long trip still for all the hype is it still ahead of the curve um all right but Point number four you make up AI can highlight our Humanity humans have explored technology now technology is exploring humans so you're sort of it's almost suggests this world where the where AI has this superhuman uh intelligence it is the machine is exploring it's a human at this point correct if you look at it this way me as a human I'm very curious one and I want to I I can show you a pile of books that are waiting to be read by me but I don't have time for it now imagine having technology in front of you that can read all your books that we ever wrote and summarize it and learn upon it and act upon it uh it can really find things that are that we didn't even see it can if it can go towards rationalization and and figuring out things and consequence pulling consequences out of it I mean that that's a bit scary right maybe that that technology if we feed it with enough of data all of data will start discovering things that we that were hidden in place side for us humans but we never never explored it and now there's a thing that explodes ever explores everything for for us including ourselves or all of the creation that we uh made uh through the centuries well so so that's that's um you know that that that's the part where I think oh now it now we have the possibility to use it to mirror ourselves right well no I think the the ability for for AI to sort of help us transcend our previous limits is is pretty pretty amazing uh you your last Point you're right here you say we are accountable for ai's bias we must hold ourselves accountable to consider how AI May reflect or enhance our biases and we know this is a real issue because you know the vast troves of data that these AI systems have been you know fed into has our Legacy bias built into it so the so oftentimes the AI systems are as biased as as Society in general which is kind of a problem it could actually perpetuate the bias what is your take on this one correct correct so I mean you are feeding this this thing with the with data so what data do you put in uh unless you put everything it is biased it's definitely by by definition it's biased uh I am focused um I I cannot feed all the data so I need to cherry pick data oh I'll I'll put some of of the interest that I have but does it does it reflect the true reality or does it reflect biased reality of which I perceive so that's that's the thing so when you are feeding um feeding AI with data you need to be careful because um you need to to to consider all the values of yourself or the organization you are in it or or or I mean let's say team you are in it and what is relevant for you unless you can even feed everything then you focus on why what are your values so that this reflects when you when you feed the data when you're when you resonate when when the AI uses that data to to come up with some some conclusion you make sure that it reflects those values that apply to you your team or or your organization otherwise you will have something that is not really usable for your your environment right I think you said it I think those five points will help businesses and keep them in mind and consumers as we begin to to Grapple with and learn and and develop artificial intelligence a lot of good stuff uh thanks for sharing this produce today uh totally appreciate it thanks very much thanks for having me cheers thank you
