Guru Tops the List
At the end of the first quarter, the .guru TLD was the leading new domain. Donuts is the registry behind .guru, and many different registrars, including Registerdomains.guru, sell individual domains.
Berlin Gets Its Own TLD
Germany’s capital, Berlin, now has its own TLD, which entered into the root zone of the Internet on Jan. 8. German company DotBerlin GmbH manages the registry.

In the No. 3 slot is the .photography TLD, which is also managed by the Donuts registry. According to nTLDstats, GoDaddy is currently the top domain registrar for .photography and has more than 50 percent of all registered domains.
Looking for .tips in All the Right Places
The .tips domain is another TLD managed by Donuts and at the end of the first quarter was the fourth most popular new TLD. GoDaddy is one of the leading domain registrars for the .tips domain and is positioning it as a “domain made for sharing knowledge on virtually any topic.”
.Today Is the Day for a New Domain
According to domain registrar Enom, “Nothing is more relevant than what’s happening today.” Enom is among the many registrars that currently sell .today domains.
Email Is Not Going Away
At the dawn of the Internet era, email was heralded as the killer app. Now, email has its own TLD sold by multiple domain registrars, including united domains.
Technology Get Its Own Domain
The .technology TLD is another in the Donuts roster that is sold by multiple domain registrars. Domain registrar Name.com notes that a .technology domain “could be used for networking concepts into production, advancing ideas in tech communities, marketing new technology or selling new technology online.”
Dot-com Gets Some Dot Company
Still the most widely used TLD on the Internet, .com is now getting some additional competition in the form of the .company TLD.

Coming in at No. 9 is the .directory TLD, which domain registrar GoDaddy is marketing as a, “memorable Web address for anyone who offers listings of people, places or files.” The .directory TLD registry is managed by Donuts Inc., with individual domains sold by multiple domain registries.

Holding down the No. 10 slot is the .clothing domain, which is also managed by the Donuts domain registry.
