Hybrid cloud software startup CloudVelocity, which migrates existing applications into the public cloud without having to modify them, on July 16 released a new product, One Hybrid Cloud, that enables accelerated integration into Amazon Web Services.
Using One Hybrid Cloud, enterprises can turn AWS into an extension of their data centers, since they can run their existing and new Linux and Windows multi-tier and multi-system apps securely in the AWS cloud.
CloudVelocity claims that One Hybrid Cloud is the first product that can automate dozens of complex manual cloud migration processes that are a substantial barrier to cloud adoption for the vast majority of enterprise apps. Authentication and security-related services also can be extended into the cloud from the data center using the software.
Unlike image- or template-based tools, One Hybrid Cloud automates the entire migration process from discovering the constituent hosts, blueprinting of system components and configuration, provisioning of cloud resources, continuous replication and synchronization of the entire app stack–including operating system, kernel, app software stack and app data.
Service initiation in the cloud site also extends to infrastructure services such as LDAP and Active Directory, CloudVelocity said.
Some 100 enterprise trials have been conducted since the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company emerged from stealth in December 2012, including Fortune 100 cloud initiatives. CloudVelocity said it plans to announce integration with other cloud providers in 2013.
