Identify Software is extending the capability of its AppSight Black Box software this week to identify problems in applications built using Microsofts .Net Framework.

Black Box, installed throughout an IT infrastructure, records problems, ranging from user actions to source code executions, officials said. Analysis tools in the Identify software spot performance, functional, configuration and user problems with a .Net application and notify the users help desk, IT operations or application development team, according to Identify.

Because Black Box records the problems at their source, it eliminates the need to reproduce application errors in a test situation, officials said. Black Box already can monitor Windows and Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition applications.
