Implementing enterprise applications can be expensive. Sun Microsystems Inc. and KPMG Consulting are collaborating on a way to cut the cost.
The companies this month unveiled the expansion of their Global Solutions Alliance. Under the amended terms of the alliance deal, Sun, of Palo Alto, Calif., and KPMG, of McLean, Va., will deliver pre-configured enterprise resource planning and managed service software to companies in the manufacturing, financial services and distribution industries.
KPMGs Rapid Return on Investment Express is designed for six- to 12-week implementations. The two will also create a practice within KPMG to focus on creating vertically and horizontally oriented software based on Suns StorEdge Complete Storage Solutions, officials said.
