Dell last week opened its third Enterprise Command Center, bringing the vendors around-the-clock support for server and storage customers to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The center, in Limerick, Ireland, joins similar ECCs in the United States and China. Dell officials said the centers improve the response times of the companys services unit by providing real-time tracking of repair calls, technicians and parts. In the United States, the ECC has helped Dell resolve user problems 25 percent faster than before, officials said.
Dell plans to open a similar facility in Japan later this fiscal year. A fifth ECC is slated for the Asia-Pacific region early next year, company officials said.
