With some help from our September redesign, eWEEK.com has brought you the latest horizontal tech news in topic areas ranging from Linux to messaging to wireless. Now, were about to complete the matrix and go vertical on you. Get ready for our in-depth coverage on key vertical industries, including health care, finance and retail.
Why enter this new dimension? We want to be your one-stop shop, whether you run Windows servers powering a bank branch or oversee your hospitals tech purchases.
Last week, we introduced a new way for our audience to navigate the content of eWEEK.com: Industry Centers that focus on the vertical markets of greatest interest to our enterprise IT audience.
Now, visitors to the site will be able to explore key topics (such as security, enterprise applications and Linux) via our Topic Centers; to learn about the latest happenings in key industries via our Industry Centers; and to find specific types of stories (such as reviews and opinions) via pages that highlight the freshest content in that category.
Our first full-fledged Industry Center is dedicated to IT challenges and achievements in the field of health care, including the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, research and insurance. Leading the charge are two new editors, Monya L. Baker and Stacy Lawrence. Like our Topic Centers, the taps content from our enterprise publications eWEEK, Baseline and CIO Insight; from our online editors and reporters; and from major coverage elsewhere on the Web.
From regulatory and privacy issues to new IT technologies for pooling data globally, health pros face a unique set of IT challenges. We trust that this center will help them stay one step ahead and learn what their peers are doing to tackle the same issues.
In the coming months, stay tuned as we build out our centers for finance, retail and manufacturing, to name a few other vertical markets on our radar. Meanwhile, well continue to add to our editorial roster in hot topics such as wireless and storage, among many others.
Were working nonstop to provide special reports and new features that make it easy to find the information you want. Id like to hear how were doing so far: Post a TalkBack or drop me an e-mail about our new directions.
