FinePrints PdfFactory Pro 2.23 provides a cost-effective way to create PDF documents.

Priced at $100, PdfFactory Pro is a great choice for home users or businesses that want a less expensive alternative to Adobe Acrobat for creating PDF documents. This application, which was released in April, is a good fit for single users and businesses that dont require the robust features graphics professionals might need.

In tests, I was impressed with PdfFactory Pros ability to create PDF files from any document-generation program that produces printable output. PdfFactory Pro comes standard with the ability to embed various font types and create hyperlinks and bookmarks for easy navigation.

PdfFactory Pro also can quickly merge and insert pages from various sources; I created a single document using Microsofts PowerPoint, Excel and Word files. In my tests, many of the file sizes after creation were significantly smaller than the same ones created using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional.

An Enterprise Edition of PdfFactory is available for Windows Terminal Server and Citrix Metaframe networked environments. The Enterprise Edition lets administrators easily set up, update and manage the application and share a PdfFactory Pro printer from a central location. Businesses pay only for the number of client workstations on which PdfFactory is installed.
