Hewlett-Packard has rescheduled its HP Technology Forum, which was due to run this week in New Orleans but was postponed following Hurricane Katrina.

Hewlett-Packard Co. will now hold the show Oct. 17-20 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The forum is the first show co-hosted by HP, in conjunction with its user group, Encompass. HP World, which had been run annually by another user group, Interex, was scheduled to run last month, but was canceled at the last minute when the group, with about 100,000, disbanded.

Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast Aug. 29, causing levees around New Orleans to break, which flooded about 80 percent of the city and left thousands of people stranded for several days with little food or clean water.
