Hyperion on Monday announced updates to dashboard technologies in both its business intelligence and compliance management suites, in an attempt to make it easier for users to access and manage more relevant data.

On the business intelligence side, Hyperion Solutions Corp. is introducing a drag-and-drop wizard-driven dashboard development tool to its Hyperion Performance Suite 8.3, enabling business users without programming skills to develop personalized dashboards.

The Hyperion Performance Management suite is part of Hyperions Business Intelligence platform.

Hyperion is also introducing in this release its Hyperion Master Data Management Server, which is used to synchronize different data sources across financial and analytic applications, as well as transactional systems, to maintain consistency and integrity of dimensions, hierarchies and business rules.

The Business Intelligence platform also supports tighter integration with SAP AG R/3 applications and Business Warehouse in this release. The platform also runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux for the first time in this release.

Hyperion also launched today the Hyperion Compliance Management Dashboard, which brings together internal controls data—based on COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) risk management frameworks—from third-party vendors with financial data from the Hyperion Financial Management platform.

This allows finance officers to gain visibility into Sarbanes-Oxley compliance status for different departments of a company and potential risk exposures within those units.

Users can drill down on the data and see how much theyre in compliance with established controls and where work needs to be done.

Third-party Sarbanes-Oxley solutions vendors whose products should work with the new compliance dashboard with minimal customization and integration required include Axentis Inc., Deloitte & Touche LLP, IBM Corp., OpenPages Inc. and Upstream Solutions Inc.
