Business process modeling software maker IDS Scheer Inc. announced Wednesday the acquisition of the North American and Eastern European business units of Plaut International.
A Salzburg, Austria-based IT consulting firm, Plaut has been in business since 1946. Plaut will bring to IDS Scheers table 400 customers, 450 employees and the ability for IDS to further implement its Aris process modeling tools.
IDS Scheer also will gain further reach into SAP AG, with whom it has a global partnership.
“We wanted to streamline our regional reach and make sure we get more critical mass in North America,” said Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, president and CEO of IDS Scheer. “With Plaut we make a jump in the visibility of our solution, [adding] 150 consultants that will use our methods and tools—and they will use Aris to support implementations of SAP [AG].”
The two North American units IDS Scheer acquired—Plaut Sigma in Atlanta and Plaut Canada—operate primarily as SAP consultants focused on large companies and as SAP resellers in the small- and mid-sized business market.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Plaut will also enable IDS Scheer, of Berwyn, Pa., to expand its consulting business in a range of vertical markets, including capital goods, consumer goods, retail and services.
Integration of the two companies employees and IT infrastructures will follow a phased rollout plan that will be concluded this year.
