Microsoft Corp. this week announced a new Solution Accelerator toolkit for generating sales proposals using its Office 2003 suite.

The Office Solution Accelerator for Proposals uses MS Office Professional Edition 2003 applications such as Word and InfoPath to allow organizations to develop sales-proposal-generating applications. It combines software components, templates and architectural guidance.

Solutions developed with the product can automate the steps of proposal development, leverage current legal and product information, establish effective collaboration and increase project control, Microsoft officials said.

Strategic partners such as Pragmatech Software Inc., Quilogy Inc., Sant Corp., Wipro Technologies and Xerox Global Services Inc. contributed to the development of the Solution Accelerator and also can help customers create customized solutions based on the technology.

Activiti Inc., EYT, Geniant, Immedient Corp., K2 Information Services Inc., Shipley Associates and Statera Inc. are also trained to provide proposal-development solutions based on the Office Solution Accelerator for Proposals, Microsoft officials said.

The Office Solution Accelerator for Proposals is now available to Microsoft customers that have licensed Microsoft Office Word 2003 and the Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 information-gathering program with Software Assurance. Customers need to have Software Assurance for the specific Office applications that are technical requirements to run or use Office Solution Accelerators.
