By adding database server support, Avidian Technologies has made Prophet 2004 Server Edition a more compelling solution for companies that need a simple way to build sales management applications within Microsoft Outlook.

Available now and priced at $1495 for a five-user license, Prophet 2004 Server Edition has a much higher price than the $150-per-user Personal Edition. That cost can be worth it since it eliminates users sharing data across local systems.

What sets Prophet 2004 Server Edition apart from standard SFA and CRM applications is that all customer- and sales-focused data resides within Microsoft Outlook 2000 or Outlook XP, and sales and customer data fields are accessible through Outlook folders.

Prophet 2004 Server Edition has some welcome new fields and features. For example, in this release I found it easier to track e-mail sent to contacts. This version also increases the number of user-definable fields for simplifying customization for a particular companys needs.
