Malaysias leading carbonated and isotonic producer, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd Group, has selected SAP AGs mySAP Business Suite family of business solutions to enhance collaboration, improve business processes, and reduce operating costs across all divisions of its core soft drink, dairy and glass businesses, according to company officials.

The SAP implementation for F&N will come in three stages. The first stage, expected to be completed by early 2004, will involve financials, inventory management as well as sales and distribution with mySAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) and SAP Beverage, a component of the SAP for Consumer Products portfolio of solutions, officials said.

Subsequent stages will run in parallel beginning in April 2004, and are scheduled for completion in early 2005.

Automated processes

Elsewhere, the Telephone Organization of Thailand (TOT) has also opted for mySAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to streamline procurement and lower related sourcing costs.

Powered by SAP Netweaver, mySAP SRM will connect 10 of TOTs key vendors and 25 key purchasing professionals into an easily managed and collaborative supplier network, allowing TOT to compress sourcing cycle times and reduce supply costs through automated competitive bidding on contracts.

“This is a marked improvement from the days when the organization was using a paper-based bidding and evaluation process, which was time-intensive and costly,” said Suwit Satayarakvit, executive vice president of corporate resources at TOT. “With mySAP SRM, we can immediately reduce our procurement costs and free up our staff to focus on higher value and more customer-centric activities now that the process is automated. These benefits are then passed along to our customers.”
