SAN FRANCISCO — Sumo Logic revealed June 22 that it is expanding its analytics services for DevOps teams with a new application for Docker.
Redwood City, Calif.-based Sumo Logic made the announcement at Dockercon 2015 here at the Marriott Marquis.
The company’s platform is designed to give customers visibility across thousands of data streams and help detect and predict performance, reliability or security issues before they happen within their apps and services.
Docker is the lead commercial sponsor behind the popular open-source Docker application container virtualization IT that competes directly with the virtual machines championed by VMware for the last 15 years.
Sumo Logic monitors Docker infrastructure with a native collection source for events, stats, configurations and logs. Its advanced machine-learning and analytics capabilities along with the new Sumo Logic application for Docker enable development and operations teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of issues surfacing from distributed container-based applications and Docker containers themselves.
As more enterprises pursue continuous delivery strategies, Sumo Logic has developed applications and collectors to extend the benefits of its machine data analytics to DevOps teams, including custom applications for Chef, Puppet, Ansible and SaltStack.
The newest application for Docker provides further granularity in analytics and troubleshooting for organizations pursuing container strategies.
