‘What VCs Seek in New-Gen IT Companies’

All one needs to do is check out eWEEK‘s Innovation section to find out about hot new companies with good—and potentially good—ideas. Whether those companies can execute everything else that’s needed to be successful in the marketplace is something that, of course, only time can tell.

However, one ingredient all young companies require is capital: money to get a place to work, hire help and develop products. At this time there is plenty of capital available for companies with good ideas, a clear vision on how to take it to market and the right personnel to do it.

Top industry areas of interest here in the second half of 2016 include new-gen security (this is always at or near the top of the most-wanted list), anything to do with utilizing containers in an IT stack, cloud-based application management and distribution, device and mobility management, big data/analytics solutions, green IT solutions, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, data center efficiency applications and several more.

We’ll talk about interesting new companies we’re seeing and we’ll ask you which ones you think are worth watching. We’ll also talk about cool new products we’re seeing and we’ll ask you to suggest ideas for products that we need right now.

We invite VCs to join us and offer their takes on the capital-availability landscape as it is now.

Join us Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. GMT for an hour. Chances are good that you’ll learn something valuable.
