Growing With the Customers
Jamcracker is partnering with Epicentric and Vitria Technology to enhance its application management platform with additional integration capabilities and beefed-up portal functionality. The upgrades should start coming online this fall, and are driven by Jamcrackers increased focus on larger customers, says Todd Johnson, Jamcrackers vice president of worldwide marketing. “We have done five deals of over 1,000 seats each in the last quarter and a half, and bigger companies are asking for more sophisticated integration,” he says. “Larger customers also want more flexibility on the portal front, so that its more of a work space than just a launch site.”
Trouble at Storage ASP
ASPs arent immune to the general tech malaise, and StorageNetworks is no exception. The groundbreaking company reported a second-quarter loss of $32.2 million and sliced its revenue forecast for the year by 18 percent, at the same time eliminating 220 jobs, or about one-third of its work force. CEO Peter Bell told Reuters that the company is funded to reach profitability, with about $318 million on hand. StorageNetworks is moving a growing share of business to customer facilities as the health of big Web hosters wanes.
