Dice Extends Social Networking Features in Free Service

One of the major technology job boards aims to help you connect more easily with recruiters, hiring managers and companies, on your terms.

The Dice Talent Network extends the profile capabilities on the Dice.com site, offering more customizable control and allowing users to more easily expand their already existing social profiles.

“Quick and easy access to high-quality, specialized talent remains the basic fabric of recruiting, and networking is a critical part of developing talent and managing careers,” Tom Silver, senior vice president of Dice, said in a July 27 statement. “By building and nurturing a talent pool within the Dice site, the Dice Talent Network offers companies a unique chance to identify talent with critical skill sets early in the search process, while reinforcing their corporate brand.”

The Dice Talent Network allows existing Dice users to connect their other social networking profiles from LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook in one place.

When you post your resume and skills information, you can target and follow companies you want to work for and control who sees your profile. The social network also allows you to connect directly with recruiters in those companies before job openings appear.

Worried your boss will find out? The free service also allows users to follow companies anonymously, so as not to tip off current employers.

“The Dice Talent Network allows those candidates to just release information to specific companies and only when that candidate grants approval,” Silver told Channel Insider’s Jessica Davis.

In the July 27 statement, Silver said, “By establishing this level of personalized engagement and control, professionals can manage their career as they see fit and develop their own opportunities. By integrating social recruiting features into our established and robust career site, we are expanding communication capabilities to the technology community.”
