The lack of IT savvy among senior managers is a huge liability (Peter Coffees Epicenters, “Computer Literacy Isnt Kid Stuff,” May 1).

I have learned through hard experience that there are just four ways to deal successfully with such individuals:

1. Dont work with them at all.

2. Isolate them in their own little world, and dont trust them not to act in a fashion counterproductive to the well-being of everyone else.

3. If the boss is amenable to constructive conversation, use all necessary language so as to arrive at a full understanding of where liability is incurred and how to mitigate, marginalize and eliminate it.

4. Go start your own company, and dont be the bonehead your boss might have been.
