Pitchman Gets A Product Line
Dude, youve got … A line of clothing and accessories?
Dell, which inexplicably found a hit spokesman in a conniving teenager named Steven, is rolling out a line of products based on his trademark tag line, “Dude, youre getting a Dell.”
The line of Dude Gear that was unveiled last week includes Dude T-shirts, Dude long-sleeved shirts, Dude baseball caps, Dude CD cases and Dude notebook backpacks.
The merchandise can be seen at www.dell4me.com/dudegear, or on Stevens site at www.dell4me.com/dude.
Newspaper Posts Online Replica
Most U.S. Newspapers, big and small, have Web sites that offer a mixture of news contents, features, classifieds and ads. The East Valley Tribune, a Phoenix-area daily, has been no different. Until now.
The newspaper has launched a subscriber program in which readers can go to the Web site, www.eastvalleytribune.com, and get the newspaper online in a way that displays each section as it appears in print.
The East Valley Tribune and its parent company, Freedom Communications, used software from Olive Software, which focuses on the newspaper market, to create the online replica of its printed version. Freedom is also using the software, called ActivePaper Daily, at its newspaper in Panama City, Fla. The News Herald will launch its subscription-based online newspaper at www.newsherald.com later this month.
East Valley Tribune officials said they will investigate the use of streaming video, archives and customized- section subscriptions.
