10 Cell Phones Cameras That Will Keep You Clicking

The C905 Cybershot comes with 8.1 megapixels, pushing the quality of the cell phone camera close to a compact digital camera. The C905 offers a 16x digital zoom, built-in Xenon flash and autofocus. The Cyber-shot action mode takes seven rapid-fire pictures as soon as you press the button. Smart Contrast balances light and color and face detection helps you focus on people.

With 8.0 megapixels, the Samsung Memoir approaches professional quality photography. The Memoir also offers a Xenon flash, autofocus and multiple shooting modes. Though the Memoir lacks Wi-Fi, the device allows for uploading images to Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Snapfish or Photobucket.

Working with Kodak’s imaging technology, Motorola has produced a 5-megapixel camera for its Motozine ZN5 cell phone. The device comes with autofocus, low-light optimization and a bright Xenon flash.Unlike many digital cameras there is little to no shutter lag with the autofocus feature locking in less than one second with no delays when firing off the next shot.

Another in the Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot K series, the 5-megapixel camera has an autofocus lens, automatic lens cover, 16x digital zoom and a Xenon flash. The camera lens is on the rear face next to the flash and a second camera lens just above the display that’s used for video calls only.

Another 5-megapixel camera that takes excellent photos. Like other Nokia N multimedia phones, the N79 features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, a dual LED flash and up to 20x digital zoom. Users can choose from eight shooting modes and five quality settings. Brightness, contrast, color tone and ISO light sensitivity can all be adjusted for better pictures.

A smartphone packing a 3.2-megapixel camera, the Blackberry Storm 9500 features an LED flash with autofocus, but little else from the camera perspective. Other features include geotagging, image stabilization, white balance and colors effect.

Palm is teaming a 3.2 megapixel camera with technology from DxO Labs, which makes imaging correction software used by Nokia and Canon.Reports claim the Pre will also come with image stabilization, real-time video and shooting without flash in low-level light.

The 3-megapixel camera produces sharp, high-quality photos but lacks a flash and other features on other cell phone cameras. Let’s face it, smartphone makers still consider the camera as a mere basic add-on feature.

The Incite sports a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus. A panorama setting allows users to take multiple shots that the device then edits into one picture. In action mode, the Incite takes a continuous series of three or more shots in rapid succession. As one review noted, the Incite is an acceptable camera for “taking snapshots at impromptu moments.”

Yes, it’s a very cool cell phone but as a camera the iPhone is pedestrian at best. It features 2 megapixels but very little else.
