Software developed by Pronto Networks Inc. will help power an eight-square-mile Wi-Fi zone in the Southern California town of Cerritos. The company said pricing will be comparable to wireline broadband access.

Prontos Operations Support System, or OSS, provides back-office functionality for Wi-Fi networks, including secure authentication, pre-paid and post-paid billing, customer support, roaming settlement and remote network management.
