Although RFID should explode over the next few years, Intel COO Paul Otellini doesnt see a place for Intel at that table. Speaking at Forresters annual conference, Otellini focused on the low-per unit cost requirements for the chips as making it unattractive.

“We wont jump into that penny-a-chip (market),” Otellini said. “It will take a lot of units to make serious money.”
