iPaq Expansion Packs Offer Extra Power

Batteries included – If youre going to have a handheld device, youre going to need power. Compaq Computer Corp. last week introduced two expansion packs for its iPaq handheld computers, both of which include removable, rechargeable batteries.

In the cards – The PC Card Expansion Pack Plus and CompactFlash Expansion Pack Plus accommodate Type 2 PC and CompactFlash cards, respectively, said officials with the Houston-based company.

Pricing – The removable battery, which provides 920 milliamps per hour, sends power directly to the cards in the pack as well as supplemental power to the main battery in the iPaq. The PC Card Expansion Pack Plus sells for $150, while the CF version sells for $100.
