Samsung Electronics Americas Digital Information Technology Division last week unveiled three flat-panel displays for enterprise and small-business users.

The sleek new SyncMaster 173P is a 17-inch model that is built with Samsungs Pattern Vertical Alignment technology, or PVA, which improves the displays brightness, viewing angle (to 178 degrees), contrast ratio and response time (to 16 milliseconds).

The unit can spin from landscape to portrait and can also lay flat or be wall-mounted. New built-in software called MagicTune guides users through setup. As a result of the software controls, Samsung is able to put only a single button on the display: on/off. The estimated retail price for the unit will be $549 when it ships next month. The company is planning to ship a 19-inch professional display in January.

The division also released the 173B, a 17-inch analog display for $519, and the 173T for a $529 estimated retail price.
