Sun Microsystems and Texas Instruments announced a partnership to create Java-based wireless applications for 2.5G and 3G networks. The companies believe their partnership will allow device makers to cut costs for converged voice and data devices. TI has licensed Suns Connected Limited Device Configuration HotSpot Implementation (CLDC HI). CLDC HI is a Java virtual machine that is optimized for consumer products and embedded devices.
