Partners BMC Software and Tripwire on March 27 will get a little closer when they elevate their technology partnership and reseller agreement for Tripwires compliance auditing software to a strategic partnership.

Tripwire, as a strategic partner to the Business Service Management provider, will release its integration between its new release of Tripwire Enterprise (6.0) and BMCs Remedy Service Desk.

Tripwire Enterprise 6.0, which helps IT better control configuration changes that can cause outages or compliance issues, can now be ordered through BMCs sales force as a part of BMCs MarketZone program.

“We have decided to form a more strategic relationship where we integrate all our products,” said Dan Schoenbaum, senior vice president of business development at Tripwire in Portland, Ore. “Today were announcing the availability of certified integration with Remedy and taking the relationship to the next step—BMC reps can now resell our products.”

Tripwire also integrates with the BMC Configuration Manager, formerly a Marimba offering. At the same time, Tripwire is working to further extend the integration it offers between its Tripwire Enterprise configuration audit and control software with the latest release of BMCs Atrium Configuration Management Database. The next level of integration is due by June.

The integration between Tripwire Enterprise 6.0 and Remedy allows Tripwire to correlate IT infrastructure changes to Remedy Change Management, and the Tripwire tool can create incident or change requests in BMC Remedy IT Service Management applications to remediate unauthorized changes.

“Remedy does a great job of managing change. We insure all changes are compliant and insure Remedy is used effectively. We insure no one circumvents change processes. If we see a change, we alert on that and Remedy can respond,” said Schoenbaum.
