Trying to keep ahead of the voice-over-IP technology train, NetIQ Corp. this month rolled out a new version of its VOIP management suite aimed at simplifying the process of managing Cisco Systems Inc.s IP telephony products.

The San Jose, Calif., companys VOIP Manager 2.0 includes new management modules for Ciscos Unity and Personal Assistant products and enables users to better control the telephony systems via automated monitoring and problem management functions, officials said. One module is VOIP Manager for Cisco Unity, which monitors and manages Ciscos voice mail and unified communications servers. All modules are available now, starting at $5,000.
