Netegrity Inc. is readying software products to aid companies in securely managing their e-business activities.

The Waltham, Mass., company next week will formally announce the launch of its Netegrity Interaction Server 5.1 portal server, the first of four products to be released that will make up its SRM (Secure Relationship Management) platform. Its the first release of Interaction Server 5.1 since Netegritys acquisition of portal vendor Data Channel Inc. last year.

Separately, Netegrity this week rolled out the latest version of its online transactional security software, SiteMinder 5.

Interaction Server 5.1 has Netegrity SiteMinder security built in, protecting all resources managed by the Interaction Server, including portlets, documents, folders, and topics. Administrators can control access to all e-business applications and provide single sign-on and personalization, Netegrity officials said.

Administrators can also control installation, customization and maintenance of the portal, delegate portal responsibilities and management to others in the organization and manage remote portals. In addition, Interaction Server 5.1 adds rapid development capabilities, including a wizard, to design portlets and workspaces without programming skills.

Version 5.0 of SiteMinder adds new management tools of its own and expands access control to support real-time e-business transactions and to access and consume Web services.

With a new technology in this version called “eTelligent Rules,” administrators can define sources of security information necessary to approve a transaction. They can also access remote, third-party XML-based Web services, such as credit score or identity verification services, as well as Dun & Bradstreet Risk Management databases, to add to this information.

SiteMinder components and agents can be viewed and managed centrally. This version also adds new tools for policy management and new reports. It also adds support for Windows Security Context to provide single sign-on across Microsoft Windows and Component Object Model+ applications.

Interaction Server 5.1 and SiteMinder 5.0 are expected to be available by the end of the month.
