Intervideos WinDVD Creator Platinum 2 combines video editing, authoring and burning software into a single, easy-to-use application. Creator, which shipped in mid-July, lists for $99.95, and my tests showed this would be money well-spent for corporate videographers and consumers alike.

The softwares adaptive smart-rendering functionality, which renders only content that has changed, is a timesaver that should make video creation easier. For example, if a new soundtrack is added to a video, the unaltered video does not have to be rerendered.

Using capture tools, I added video content to Creator from video cameras, VCRs and DVD players without much trouble. Creator also made it relatively easy for me to edit video using the storyboard interface and to add a variety of transition and title effects.

The menu layout editor in Creator was also easy to use in tests, and it included templates that enabled me to quickly make menus that were easy to navigate and professional-looking.

The DivX support included in Creator allows video to be imported and exported in the popular compressed video format.

Creator supports virtually every burning media, including DVD-R, DVD-RW, VCD, sVCD and DivX.
