A new build of the Vonage Web site is preventing users from accessing their voice mail accounts from the Web.
Other users also began reporting problems logging into their Vonage accounts beginning Wednesday.
Users trying to access their voice mail on the Vonage site were met with the message, “No voice mail boxes found for your account,” and stored voice mail messages did not show up on the site. The messages and lack of voice mail began appearing on Wednesday, and persisted through early Thursday morning.
According to Vonage support technicians, the problem should be resolved in 24 hours, although Vonages voice mail service was still inaccessible early Thursday morning. A users voice mail can still be accessed via a users phone, representatives said.
“This system upgrades are effecting several customer and they are working as quickly as possible to correct the problem,” a Vonage customer care representative wrote Wednesday night in an e-mail. “We apologize for and inconvenience that has caused, is should be corrected shortly.”
Chris Latona, a member of the Vonage DigitalVoice executive response team, confirmed that the problem still required another day to resolve.
“The delay you are experiencing is due to a build that is taking place on our web site,” Latona said via an e-mail late Wednesday. “The issues will be resolved within 24 hours and you can still access your voicemail using your phone. I appreciate your patience and I apologize for the inconvenience.”
Vonage public relations officials did not respond to requests for comment.
