From Microsoft Watch: Microsoft is poised to release to a select group of testers a new interim test of Windows Vista any day now, we hear. That build could be No. 5506 – or something slightly later, according to testers. In any case, we’ve seen from a few screen shots of Vista build 5506 that various Windows Live services are now part of the latest builds. Microsoft is including links to allow consumers to download (or, in the case of Windows Live OneCare, to purchase) certain Live services. But it seems at least one Windows Live service, Windows Live Messenger, could become part of the operating system, accessible from the Start Menu, if the latest builds are indicative of Microsoft’s final product directions.
