Lenovos IdeaPad U1 hybrid notebook features a detachable screen, which removes to become a multitouch slate tablet. The HD LED-backlit display measures 11.6 inches and features around 5 hours of battery life. It will retail for under $1,000 and be available June 1.

Once the Lenovo IdeaPad U1s 1.6-pound multitouch screen detaches in a “tablet,” it runs Lenovos Skylight Linux-based operating system, powered by a Qualcomm ARM Snapdragon processor.
