HP to Launch New Laptops, Mini Notebook, Gaming PC at CES

The Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv2 laptop is the first laptop to use AMD’s “Yukon” platform for ultraportable, lightweight notebooks. The HP notebook uses the new AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor running at 1.6GHz.

The HP Pavilion dv2 uses a discrete ATI Radeon HD3410 graphics card and its starting configuration will be priced under $700.

The HP Pavilion dv2 laptop weighs less than 4 pounds and is less than 1 inch thick.

HP is rolling out a second notebook based on AMD processors called the HP Pavilion dv3 notebook, which uses more traditional AMD Turion and Athlon chips and offers a 13.3-inch screen.

The HP Mini 2140 Notebook is geared toward business users. While it uses an Intel Atom N270 processor, the Mini 2140 runs Microsoft Windows Vista, supports up to 2GB of main memory and offers a choice of either a 160GB hard disk drive or an 80GB solid-state drive.

For gamers, HP is rolling out the Voodoo DNA 802 PC, which offers an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor running at 2.66GHz and a Nvidia GeForce 9800S graphics card.
