Pepcom Holiday Spectacular, New York, Sept, 16-19

Pepcom’s annual “Holiday Spectacular” New York event, coinciding with the Interop/Mobile Business Expo/Web 2.0 shows, showcased a panoply of notebooks, digital cameras and other professional/consumer devices for holiday and IT consumption.

When size and weight aren’t an issue, but computing power is, Lenovo’s 8.3-pound ThinkPad W700 is just the ticket, with its 17″ display, NVIDIA Quadro FX mobile graphics, built-in digitizer and color calibrator, and optional dual hard drives with RAID configurations, and up to 8GB of high speed DDR3 RAM.

Lenovo’s entry into the “netbook” category, its S10 IdeaPad, has a 10.2″ screen, a great keyboard and more. XP Home, with Linux distro likely. Available in October–and already selling out fast, I hear.

Neat’s NeatReceipts’ portable USB-powered scanner gets a hardware makeover, for easy receipt-scan toting capability.

Neat’s NeatDesk scanner has separate slots for business cards, receipts and larger items for more manageable scanning.

VTech Extends the range on AT&T cordless phones with DECT technology.

Move over, 16GB…Kingston’s showing 32GB flash media.

Seagate’s Free Agent Go portable USB hard drives keep getting bigger (in capacity) and better looking…currently packing 320GB. Seagate’s also added a desktop docking station.

TDK’s TransitEdge USB flash drives are available in 8-16GB…and their metal casing makes them harder to lose or damage.
