Hewlett-Packard has signed a new, seven-year deal with NASA worth $5.6 billion and will provide the federal agency with a wide range of hardware, the company announced May 23.
Under the agreement, HP will provide NASA and other federal agencies with desktops, workstations and blade PCs with Linux and Unix capabilities. In addition, the Palo Alto, Calif., company also will provide servers, printers and other equipment.
The agreement was provided under the NASA SEWP (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement) contract, which also allows other federal agencies to purchase HP technology for their own uses.
Previously, HP had agreed to deliver $620 million worth of hardware and services through previous SEWP contracts between 1992 and this year.
