The Roxio division of Sonic Solutions announced Jan. 4 the launching of its two newest digital media software offerings: MyDVD 9 Studio Premier and RecordNow 9 Music Lab Premier.

MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is a DVD creation suite packaged with several digital devices and PCs that enables users to take their personal photos, slide shows and home movies and turn them into multimedia DVDs.

The digital media software feature Blue-ray Disc capabilities, which allows users to record, rewrite and play back HD (high-definition) videos.

“Roxio MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is the ideal solution for consumers who wish to make this media more meaningful for themselves and the people they share it with whether posting it to a user-generated content for mass consumption, viewing it on the go, or enjoying it in the comfort of their living room on wide-screen TVs in vivid high definition,” Stan Wong, general manager of the Roxio division at Sonic Solutions, said in a company release.

MyDVD 9 includes photo and editing tools that give creative professionals hands-on control, a 32-track timeline editor that includes video overlay tools and editing controls.

Roxios newest DVD creation suite also includes PhotoSuite, which allows users to edit photo-taking mistakes, and Slideshow Task Assistant, which enables users to make shows featuring transitions, titles, background music, photo panning and zooming, and narration.

In addition, the DVD creation suite features a Media Manager that allows users to organize and access photos, music and video files while also enabling users to upload photos, video clips and ring tones to their mobile phones through a USB or Bluetooth connection.

My DVD9 Studio Premier is available now through the companys Web site for $69.99.

Roxio also announced Jan. 4 the release of RecordNow 9 Music Lab Premier, which enables users to create, edit and manage their digital audio collection.

Vista-compatible, RecordNow 9 Music Lab Premier integrates audio capturing, editing and management functions into a single suite of digital software applications.

“RecordNow 9 Music Lab Premier allows consumers to make the most of their music collections,” Wong said in a release.

Roxios latest music CD and DVD software will feature the following:

      • AutoMix playlist creation: Users can choose their favorite music track and as a result, the application will search for similar tracks, helping to make a personalized playlist.
      • Multiformat audio converter: Users can transform their music and audio files to an appropriate format such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio), FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) and OGG Vorbis.
      • Mobile phone ring-tone creation: Users can create and share custom-made ring tones using any track from their personalized music collection.
      • Web radio recording: Users can record streaming Web radio and music to their PCs, with the option of converting it to an MP3, burning it to a CD or DVD, or transferring it to a portable audio player.

“Now customers can save Web radio or music streams at the touch of a button, digitize analog music effortlessly and produce customized playlists for all occasions,” Wong said.

RecordNow9 Music Lab Premier also features a DVD music album creator that enables users to create DVDs with more than 50 hours of music.

RecordNow9 Music Lab Premier is available now at the companys Web site for $49.99.
