The Tablet PC platform got a boost this week when Microsoft said that several of its partners have announced support for both its Tablet PC platform and BizTalk Server.
During his keynote speech at VSLive Monday, S. “Soma” Somasegar, corporate vice president of the Microsoft Developer Division, said Microsoft Corp. had made enhancements to the Tablet PC software development kit and that Microsoft partners had taken the platform and delivered new functionality around it.

At the Microsoft Windows Anywhere portion of the conference, Agilix Labs Inc. of Orem, Utah announced the availability of its InfiNotes product, a note-taking control for the Tablet PC that enables users to add digital ink to new and existing applications.
With InfiNotes, developers can more quickly develop digital ink applications for the Tablet PC, and features enable drag-and-drop integration in Microsoft Visual Studio, according to Somasegar.
In addition, Bluewire Technologies of Bristol, United Kingdom, announced the release of BluewireInk, a similar solution that enables .Net framework developers to add ink and note-taking to Windows and Web applications, officials said.
CDMI Software, of Fremont, Calif., announced the first public release of Sales Ace, its Tablet PC-optimized sales force automation software for distribution-based industries.
Frank Gocinski, an ISV evangelist and manager of business development for the Microsoft Platform Division, said every member of the divisions ISV community “plays a critical role in the development of mobile PC applications.”
Meanwhile, for data collection applications, Lush Group Inc. announced the Mobile Data Collector Suite for the Tablet PC. Nancy Lush, president of the Jamestown, R.I., company, said the suite is a system for defining forms, collecting data in the field and reporting results.
Colligo Networks Inc., of Vancouver, British Columbia, announced Colligo Workgroup Edition 4.0, which enables mobile teams to connect Windows laptops, Tablet PCs and Pocket PCs via peer-to-peer wireless networks and to communicate and share data.

Meanwhile, PhatWare Corp., a Mountain View, Calif., maker of Tablet PC applications such as the PenOffice handwriting recognition software for Tablet PCs and desktops, and PhatPad, a notes application, announced that it has been selected as a premier partner in the Microsoft Tablet PC Partner Program.
On the BizTalk front, /n Software Inc., of Durham, N.C., released a suite of communications adapters for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, company officials said. The /n Software BizTalk Server 2004 Adapters include AS2 EDI-INT (electronic data exchange-Internet Integration) secure messaging, FTPS and SFTP capabilities.
DevelopMentor, of Torrance, Calif., announced Essential BizTalk Server 2004, a five-day training course for .Net developers who need to build application integrations.
