Here are the emerging technology stories for the week of July 30th.
Microsoft Moves On Software Modeling – Microsoft has been talking about model driven architectures for application development for a long time. Still not sure if we’re that much closer. And from a security standpoint it still scares me.
Super Efficient Solar Cells – Pretty cool technology from the University of Delaware that not only creates a more efficient solar cell but also greatly reduces the size.
Resistance to RFID – For a while now I’ve been worried about the rush to put RFID in everything, with all security concerns seemingly tossed out the window. Nice to see that many in the industry are starting to slowly put the brakes on the rush to RFID.
FCC Goes Halfway – Big news this week was the FCC decision on the spectrum auction. Still not sure where things go from here because a lot will depend on who wins the auction.
