John Battelle made noise about this last night, and now the AP has the story: Google has hired Amazon search chief Udi Manber. Amazon’s A9 is replacing Manber with David Tennenhouse, who previously directed research at Intel and DARPA’s Information Technology Office.
Barnaby Dorfman, A9’s vice-president in charge of business development, also recently left Amazon, but for Peerflix, an online DVD trading service.
Google has also recently hired Microsoft exec Kai-Fu Lee and MCI’s Vint Cerf.
Would somebody please start taking odds on which uber-exec will defect to Google next?
