Small business networking solutions specialist D-Link announced two IP surveillance dome cameras, the HD Mini Dome Network Camera (DCS-6004L) and the Full HD Mini Pan and Tilt Dome Network Camera (DCS-5615).

The DCS-6004L is a mydlink-enabled camera featuring Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a compact form factor and is marketed to businesses that need to monitor areas that are hard to reach or require discrete surveillance.

The DCS-5615 features high-definition (Full 1080p HD) megapixel resolution with 360-degree pan and 80-degree tilt control.

The DCS-6004L offers several features to enhance surveillance capabilities, while the mydlink portal allows users to view streaming video from a PC, notebook, iPhone, iPad or Android device, as well as enhanced remote capabilities through the mydlink+ and free mydlink Lite app.

Additional camera features include black and white case collars for fitting into any color interior environment, high-resolution 1,280-by-800 (1 megapixel), a 10/100 Power over Ethernet Port, built-in microphone and audio out for two-way communication.

The camera also features built-in infrared light emitting diodes (LEDs) for nighttime viewing of up to 15 feet, a microSD card (SDHC) slot for onboard storage, and H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression capabilities.

Additional camera features of DCS-5615 include motorized pan/tilt controls and 16x digital zoom, continuous recording based on event triggers or a schedule, real-time H.264, MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression and an input port for connectivity to external devices such as IR sensors, switches and alarm relays.

PoE for expanded and simplified installation options, a microSD Card (SDHC) slot for local storage, and tamper detection round out the package.

Both cameras include the company’s D-ViewCam video management software for expanded surveillance options, allowing users to manage up to 32 network cameras, set email alert notifications, create recording schedules and use motion detection to record directly to a hard drive.

Both cameras are also compatible with a wide variety of third-party virtual memory system (VMS) solutions and are Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) compliant.

The DCS-6004L and DCS-5615 will be available in summer 2014 throughout D-Link’s network of channel partners, including value-added resellers (VARs) and distributors.

“Dome cameras continue to be the form factor of choice in surveillance, and these new offerings provide even more advanced surveillance capabilities for small- and medium-sized businesses and enterprises,” Vance Kozik, director of marketing for IP Surveillance for D-Link Systems, said in a statement. “The DCS-6004L has a very small form factor, yet provides HD resolution, night vision and a microSD card slot, while the DCS-5615 is a Full HD indoor dome camera that can be remotely positioned anywhere surveillance is needed.”
